DS3 hands down. Second is the GC controller but the shoulder buttons and Z were just silly.

How do the shoulder buttons differ SO significantly from any other dual analogue controller!?

Have you ever played with a GC controller? The press point was at the very end and was just like a normal button. It was a bad shoulder button disguised as a very bad trigger. Regular shoulder buttons like the N64 controller had would've been better.

Why yes. I spent hundreds of hours on the Gamecube and played FPS, sports games, adventure, platformer etc. etc.

That's what made it awesome!(?) You had an analogue trigger with AN EXTRA button when you pushed it all the way down. No game ever required of me to press that extra button constantly. Most of the time you could just tap R and L softly.
