Remember the Xbox One still has more countries to release in, and they still have a Holiday price drop which will allow the Xbox One to sell about as well as the PS4 during the holiday season. Both the Xbox One and Wii U have some good exclusives coming this year. |
I'm not sure how big of an effect that will have, to be honest. Apparently some stock from Germany and other EU countries where the XBO is selling poorly is being imported into nordic countries and other "Tier 2" countries and they are still found in stocks there as well. I'm sure it'll get a boost, but the XBO main fight is in the US and UK, hence why they are being so aggressive with TF and the XBO bundle in those countries. Whether or not their strategy works remains to be seen.

Here's the thing though, apparently Cerny said the PS4 will drop in price relatively fast due to its COTS parts. Do you think a $299 PS4 will be more damaging against a $399 XBO? Or a $399 PS4 against a $499 XBO? I tend to think the former will do more damage than the latter. Of course, if MS wants to eat the costs and sell for a big loss, then they can price match Sony. Or they can drop kinect, but I honestly don't see that happening like some other folks can.
