The market is not gone: Nintendo abandoned it. Wii U simply proves that even Nintendo didn't really like developing games for the Wii and wanted something bulkier, but that's not what Nintendo-consumers want. The Nintendo that shoves their middle finger right in the industry's face is the Nintendo that conquers. The Nintendo that tries to go along with industries norms is the niche player you've described. Their potential is far greater than either Sony or Microsoft, limited only by the size of their companies. |
Sorry, but that's utter crap.
Each one of Nintendos consoles has seen a big drop in users. The market has lost faith in Nintendo and they have become less and less of a player each generation.
Nintendo never abondened gamers, gamers got bored of Nintendo.
