So why is MH the more popular series of all combined?

Monster Hunter is more popular for two reasons.  It's the better game and it was already massively popular before other developers started ripping off the concept.  Why bother asking this when I stated it was the better game the post you quoted?  It doesn't change how any of the games mechanics are.

Why is it the better game?

The monsters themselves plus there is balance with the weapons and finesse to the combat system.

In Soul Sacrifice, the biggest issue in my opinion is balancing.  If you don't have weapons of the correct element, it'll take several times as many attacks to kill a monster.  In Ragnarok Odyssey you have one combo and several attacks tied to how many hits you do with the combo.  Some of your most damaging attacks may come from one combo but there's no way to get that amount of attacks in and the combo finished before an enemy attack hits, so most of the additional attacks in the game are useless when you don't have the time to use them.  The other problem are the weapon types are very unbalanced.  Some weapons are clearly more damage dealing than others.  The long sword is good at area of effect, but it's weak when it comes to damage dealing, so even something like the mace weapons are more damaging and can heal.  An issue with all games, a much bigger issue with Ragnarok Odyssey is you'll either do a mission you're required to kill non boss monsters to complete the mission or in Ragnarok Odyssey go to room after room, only for the door to be locked forcing you to kill all these enemies before allowing you to progress, and when you do the same missions over and over with a different boss, it gets extremely boring because of the massive amount of repetition.

I'm sorry but the combat system is very similar. For example, certain monsters take way more damage from exposive and hammer weapons, and some take more damage from slicing weapons. That's the same as in Monhun. You cannot beat certain monsters within the timeframe without using the right weapons..,.or an extremely powerful weapon of a different type. I would do perfect runs against some monsters and just could not beat them. Then I switched to a hammer of the same tier, and ruined them. It's very similar.

And the part about endless repetition? MonHun IS endless repetition. Moreso than the other games. The difference is that you're rewarded far better in MonHun, and it makes doing the runs worth it.

I don't know how you can think that the crafting is just the same as whatever the other games offer. That's your opinion though, so whatever.
