It's been happening to phones for years. "hey check out this new phone! it does everything urs does only MORE and BETTER and FASTER! but we're also gonna put a data limit on it, so make sure you do the MORE and BETTER and FASTER stuff sparingly!
Home Internets is the same. Now that we're used to faster speeds, lets limit those speeds so you get less use out of that service you're already paying a premium for.
I love FIOS, I hate Verizon. I think this would be enough to make me go back to Charter.
