It seems like the second largest party in Sweden, Moderaterna, the leading political party of Sweden don't look too kindly upon games. They blame gaming on poor school results, and as far as I understood it's one of the main reasons too.

"As Sweden's students underperform, the leading political party in Sweden blames video games. "It's very obvious to me that we must change the attitude surrounding this [the amount of time spent on video games]", says the party's educational policy spokesperson Tomas Tobé."

"Tobé cites that more than a third of males who are attending school are spending a total of three hours or more on video games per day, and that this is something which won't help the Swedish school results going forward."

I found this a bit amusing, since China recently dropped the video game ban here. And the ban was set in place because of exactly those reasons, but also that it would get people less active and unhealthy.

I will both agree and disagree with the Swedes. Too much gaming is of course not good, but it's the parents in my opion that should set these rules not the politicians.
