I would too but maybe they don't need to 'Final Fantasy' it up, just stick with the Ivalice world. It is only recently that I thought about how close to other western made games it is but in a way better. It still holds much FF style while including a vast searchable openworld. 2 games remarkably similar to it in combat and control are X-men Legends and Dragon Age. 3 very different games and all great.
You are right on pacing but I was fine with it, just the leveling got hard until I was able to get the double EXP item from that peddler in Archades sewers. And I'd replicated your last comment but with Fran instead.
