According to Dr. Wright, black liberation theology includes some of these statements (from his website) and my reactions to them...

"We [African Americans] were always seen as objects. When we started defining ourselves, it scared those who try to control others by naming them and defining them for them; Oppressors do not like “others” defining themselves."

Seen by who?  Who is oppressing?  I am white(and maybe considered privelaged) and I am not oppressing anybody, but the sermons say all white people are.  I owned a business and I never discriminated in hiring or promoted.

"African-centered thought, unlike Eurocentrism, does not assume superiority and look at everyone else as being inferior. "

So Eurocentrism churches teach superiority.  That is very enlightened. (sarcasm)

If any of these statements or statements from the video were reversed to be a white person speaking of black people would it be alright then.  Why is "black power" alright to encourage and proclaim?

No race is any better or worse than any race.

No race or geographically centered teaching system is inherently better or worse than any other just because of who is involved.

If you think or support the idea that any race is better than anyother race then you are a racist.

(The man also believes that HIV was invented by the government to kill black people. )

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
