It's not like Anonymous has initiation rites or anything. It's not even really an organized network. It's a big amorphous blob of internet people. Some are in it for the lulz. Some are insane. Some are awesome. Some are hackers on steroids. But together, sometimes they do stupid shit and sometimes they do awesome shit. It's almost like an internet Project Mayhem.
But right now, if they're getting attention for attacking something evil, I hope they get a million times bigger. I've been preaching against the evils of Scientology for years. Some of my friends were converted and are basically zombies now.
Anyway, these protests kick ass. I'm definitely making the next one. The protest in February got one woman to quit the church. She wants her life back. She's totally fucked, because the church will use her own confessions against her in court, and will try to turn any friends or family (old or new) against her. But Anonymous gave her hope! There's a bunch of great web sites, that all constitute this group called The Free Zone, which is a bunch of people who practice Scientology outside of Co$ and RTC. It's good stuff. I mean... if you're into the "tech" and space opera whatnot.
