That's odd. Why would libertarians be against homosexuality? Does libertarianism have a moral code? And if it does, what is it's philosophical underpinning? |
I don't think so. Well it has a moral code, that's basically the old "everyone should be able to do anything they want so long as it dosen't hurt anyone else" code.
Or at least... that's what i thought.
Either way, most of America has a hard on for Gay Bashing last i checked, even lots of democrats hate the idea of gay marriage.
I mean, the Bush V Kerry debates on gay marriage pretty much went like this.
"I'm against them their, gays and I think it should be in the constitution that gays can't marry."
"Now, I think that doesn't make sense, it's already illegal, so this law wouldn't do anything except take away states rights." (wait isn't that the republican stance?)
"You love gays!"
"No I don't I'm against gay marriage I just think it's stupid to make it double illegal!."
I think even during that election even most democrats were against gay marriage.

It looks to me like Republican America has a hard-on for gay-bashing. And libertarians are helping to stroke it.
