Why would they move to a new, much bigger, studio if they're laying people off?

Because things change.

But they changed pretty quickly if thats the case cause they moved like 2 months ago. Im guessing the move wasnt to expand to beging with and the lay offs were planned already cause otherwise this doesnt make sense at all. Also how many games do they have in development at once ? This is kind of an important information cause otherwise "they canceled a game" can simply mean they scrapped a very minor project they had there them layed-off the team working on it wich was probably very small, if its only 2 or something like that tham its very hughe and they probably layed-off throngs of ppl.

We know they helped with The Order: 1886 and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and that they were working on at least 1 PS4 game. It's possible they were also working with some Indie developers bringing their games to PS4.
