Thank you; this is the bit of information I wanted, yet was too lazy to look up myself.
322k sold on an initial shipment of 350k, with further reports confirming initial stock was subsequently sold out and that the Japan market is awaiting follow up shipments, points to a successful launch, directly in line with SCE projections.
No more inventory was diverted than necessary from other global regions where stock remains persistently short.
I hate to sound like a cheerleader, but I do have to hand it to SCE for the way they handled the PS4 launch globally.
