I think that that scenario is getting increasingly likely.
Microsoft is a company that goes into a market to dominate. They have had an increasingly better performance since they started but i think its fairly obvious to conclude that the X1 wont be the sucess the 360 was.
Under these circunstances and the investor pressure, i can see Microsoft selling off their Xbox division or closing it down. They have no chance to dominate the market without taking big losses yet again, and i dont think the new administration really has room for that.
So, if they arent planning to sell it already, im sure they will be looking at Titanfalls impact on the X1 and possibly unbundle the Kinectin the future. I dont think they will take any losses with it. If these are enough to make it a sucess then Microsoft will definitly keep the Xbox. If sales go back to beeing abysmal like they are beeing now, then they will most certainly kill it or sell it if they can. I dont think amazon is interested in the X1 though, but i think they are interested in Microsoft game studios.
