Saying resolution doesn't matter too much goes against the very fabric of our reasoning for upgrading any piece of entertainment device. See a 720p TV but you can comfortably afford a 85" 4K TV? "Resolution doesn't matter". You have $2,500 to comfortably plop down on a gaming rig. You could choose a single GTX 600 over dual sli GTX Titans because "resolution doesn't matter". You wish the Xbox One would've used dvd's as their main gaming medium as the Xbox 360 did because at the end of the day "resolution doesn't matter"... :-/
When people say that phrase, you in essence go against EVERYTHING in us that propels us to break boundaries, to push the limits of technology. All for what, your "fanaticism" for a company making technologically inferior hardware to its opponents, ON PURPOSE?!
Every console generation, the promise of better graphics is the single most compelling reason people upgrade to the next gen (8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit, etc.), and some of you are SERIOUSLY trying to make an argument that we should plop down ANY amount of money for a next gen console, and just totally ignore the overall value to its competitors because..."resolution doesn't matter"? That's utterly ridiculous...*smh*
