How about no? Japan would explode. Its about time Microsoft start fending for themselves, they've been picking away at everyone elses games for a good long while as well.

But as I recall final fantasy started on a Nintendo console, as did metal gear etc

i don't get why sony fans thinks it pertains to them, when it doesn't!

Metal Gear started on Microsoft's MSX but the modern MGs and FFs started on the PS1 with FF7 and MGS1. Then after those games were considered to be big Playstation exculsives for the PS2 and (originally) PS3. Given the right opportunities (like the Xbox 360) these games were always bound to be multiplat, times change and so do markets.
