I don't pay for a game based on how much it cost the developers/publishers to make it available. I pay for it based on how much value it offers me... and value is not quantified by the length of the game, but rather the quality of the game.
A Games Value to me is an intangible thing. It is a mix of things like being unique or fun or fun for the family or who knows. When I end up loving a game, I am willing to spend a lot on it, so I will buy the remake / HD port or whatever no questions asked. When I a game is more forgettable, I don't even pay attention to any sequel or other games that might be similar.
