I used to be a huge advocate of not having multi-player in single player suited games. Some single player games are just that. Single player. I once heard a developer say " The reason that our game is so good is that we have only the single player experience to deliver to the consumer, as we have 1 focus, we hone in on that and we deliver "

This was perfect for me. But with the release of Uncharted 2, it all changed.

I was afraid, yes AFRAID. Here we have one of my favorite franchises, adding Multi-Player to an almost perfect Single-Player game. I was mad, pissed, scared, all up until I played the game.

Naughty Dog struck the perfect balance between the 2.

I know all developers will not succeed, but with development costs of big budget games, developers are banking on extending their games lifespan. This is also the perfect opportunity for them the flood the game with future DLC, for even more profits.

All games don't need it, but if it can be done without sacrificing the single player experience, its all good with me.
