When the Xbox 360 launched its GPU was top end and the Cell on PS3 was also pretty much like nothing else.

PS4 and Xbox One would be considered low to mid range builds in todays PC market. In a year they will be budget build models. This is in comparison to PC the smallest jump generation wise.

Xbox 360 may have been lucky to fall in to high end when it came out but it became mid range in less than a year when Nvidia launched the 8000 series of cards. 8800 GTX absolutely demolishes both last gen consoles and in came out in late 2006.

Hell 8800 GTX is almost as powerful as Xbox One GPU 7 years later.

Yeah I know it was quickly surpassed but it was high end tech at launch. Xbox One at launch is mid tier at best, considering 750ti is only a $150 GPU and it more than capable of performing at Xbox One levels. The 360 didn't depreciate as fast as Xbox One is going to. Honestly in 4 years I don't see how its going to run new games considering it struggles to even handle and up rezzed port of Tomb Raider and can't even hit 1080p on it.
