I did like you said and reviewed the posts in this thread, starting all the way back at the beginning. What I saw was starcraft being pretty harsh but never making personal attacks or accusations he couldn't back up. The first time I saw anyone step way out of line was this post:

I think Sony would have sold just as many HDTV's without the PS3. As for Blu-Ray, we are yet to see any indication that Sony will make money after the HUGE amounts the sunk into getting the format off the ground.
Wow, you're pretty obsessed about Sony losing money aren't you? What's the matter, can you not accept that Microsoft was embarrassingly defeated with their co-developed HD DVD and that their partners in crime, Toshiba, fled back to Sony and the PS3 leaving ol' Stevie Balmer to pick up the many shattered pieces? Personally I'd be more worried about how much Microsoft will lose on the failed HD DVD platform, now it has sunk to the bottom of the pile and out of existence. Anyone with more than two brain cells floating around in that chunk of grey matter between their ears will know exactly what the Blu-ray victory means for Sony. Roughly translated, it means BILLIONS in their coffers. That's right Mr. Starcraft, billions. The exact thing that Microsoft are losing is what Sony will be gaining. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I'll look forward to your faux contradictory reply in due course.
Yes, starcraft had been attacking pro-PS3 posts, but he had been doing so with civil argumentation based on fact whereas you preferred to divert the argument into juvenile attacks on Microsoft and Steve Ballmer personally, and to state that anyone who disagrees with you obviously has no brain at all. All this despite the fact that you could easily have pointed to actual numbers or at least made fact-based arguments to support your stance that Blu-ray will reap massive benefits for Sony overall.

Then you spent two or three paragraphs telling stories about how no one in all the stores you looked at was buying 360s but they were buying PS3s and oh I saw Wiis in stock so maybe the shortage is over? And then you have the gall to say it was "merely an observation" as if you didn't mean for your little anecdotes to be taken as real evidence. If that's the case, why tell us about it like that?

On to Page 3. starcraft rebuts, though IMO he misinterpreted your "glass house" comment as applying to assertions about the market instead of his warning to remain civil lest you get banned. Your next post goes right on to compare his posts to bird crap and Uwe Boll movies. I'm not sure which I'd be more insulted by, probably the latter.

I like this: "This thread was, after all, directed at the 360's price drop and whether it would affect Sony's sales, not a battleground for all-out assaults on both sides. We've both said our part, now let's just get back to business." O RLY? Why then did your OP include shots at the 360, going so far as comparing it to the Dreamcast and asking "Something to lose sleep over or just another nail in Microsoft's coffin of desperation?" What kind of idiot are you to not think that that was the opening shot of a flamewar?

As for "attacking you because of your name", I hope you understand that that was a joke to underline the ridiculousness of your attack, especially when you are simultaneously pretending to be a logical and reasonable debater. What happened to "We've both said our part, now let's just get back to business." or "Like I've said a hundred times now, can you please keep on topic" or even "I'm not going to keep arguing with you as it leads to nowhere"?

The simple fact is that while you can argue whether you or starcraft has been the more egregious propagandist (an argument you'll lose, BTW) you CANNOT rationally deny that starcraft's conduct while yours has been a long string of personal attacks and outrageous insults, not "one singular outburst" as you would like to pretend.

I've also, on SEVERAL notable occasions tried to get everything back ON topic so as to avoid this kind of thing from happening, but you lot just wouldn't have it. So who's at wrong now?
Hmm, let me think. If you say everyone should stop attacking each other, in the same post that you call his posts bird shit and Uwe Boll films, does that mean it's starcraft who is most likely perpetuating the atrocious behavior I've witnessed? With anyone but you I'd consider that a rhetorical question.

Oh, and I like what's happened since I started writing this up, too.

Final-Fan, I'm like, in love with you <}

OT:  In the short term, very little.  If the cut is successful long-term, Sony will have to cut as well.
