I think a big factor in this is actually, we've had the same hardware under the hood for the big multiplatform games since 2005. People are really ready for a jump in the visuals/performance.

Although PS4 doesn't have any blockbuster exclusives of note yet. It does have some multi platform stuff that is a clear leap ahead of the Xbox 360/PS3 versions. FIFA in particular has wowed a lot of my friends. People are just ready for new hardware and PS4 has been the right proposition (most powerful hardware at the best price) at the right time and so I think this is why so many users are currently gravitating towards it.

It's also offering the best console versions of most multiplatform games. Something unless the pad is integrally utilized, which I don't see from 3rd parties, will never happen with the Wii U.

Wii U's lineup as great as it is (it's actually heaven for me as a huge platform game fan) isn't very broad. Therefore it's not going to have the same mass market appeal.

That said, your comment that PS4 has no decent games on it is completely incorrect. It has the best version of games that the core market really cares about. Whether they fit your definition of decent is irrelevant. The sales of FIFA/Call of Duty etc on PS4 (and also XB1) relative to it's userbase speak for themselves. There is just no market for these games on Wii U, which means these games will stop coming out on Wii U and it will perpetuate the cycle.
