90K pre orders for a fanbase that is not known to pre order means that it's probably overcounted ...

Like I said, it can happened the other way around. I remember Skyward Sword having around 200k pre-orders on VGC and the U.S first week sales were 600k.

True but DKC isn't exactly meant for the "hardcore" nintendo fans like zelda ...
