You mean the deal from 1988? Most Sony and Nintendo execs from that time aren't even around anymore with their companies, and some have even passed away. 

Same relevancy still applies today. Same problems of that failed venture are still relevant. Nintys business culture and MS's ego would clash . They used to be just a card trading company. They would rather branch off into more non gaming ventures.
