Both. Sony and Ninty both deserved the failure for lack of commitment and focus on them (both slowly bettering in support, but both still appalling at marketing them) but the devices themselves don't deserve failure, they deserve both better sales, as they are good pieces of hardware and their SW libraries can, or could in future, either for their strategies and what their HW allows, complete the offer in their respective markets, btw with Wii U bringing Ninty's exclusives that are really irreplaceable by competitors, while PSV offers control options different from 3DS ones, so, while not having 1st party exclusives as strong, it can make some games playable better than on 3DS (the opposite is obviously true too), and its layout too can be more comfortable for people that don't like 3DS's one (or even PSP's one, like me, I hate PSP, I love PSV).
