While I see what you mean, the original post was about an article which referred to the Kinect as a 'preipheral' in the sense of 'extra, non-essential device.' The word they opposed it with was 'pack-in.'

So rather than debate about what the word peripheral means IN REAL LIFE, especially with regards to COMPUTERS, this should be kept about debating it with regards to what the article writer was intending.

Otherwise, there's just going to be a bunch of back and forth arguments.

Its because the OP is using incorrect terminology and mixing up arguments that is causing the back and forth debating...
