Well I bought Bioshock Infinite on ps3 new and pc on steam so gave them some money but I do buy secondhand games on ps3 and 360. Personally I feel 3 million is a good figure to sell. Banking on getting 5 million sales seems highly risky. I do like varied game experiences that take the player into new areas. Thats why games like call of duty and battlefield can be depressing as they seem to important to the industry nowadays as do football franchises.
I hope developers keep coming up with fresh gaming experiences. I hope its not down to low cost indie developers to come up with fresh gaming ideas. I like ambitious technically impressive games like Bioshock Infinite that also take a few risks and don't just update what came before.
