I agree that the Krill are pretty badass, but then I must throw a counter-point in by talking about the Chimerian Spires that release the thousands of bugs that crawl inside and infect humans.
I like that there are tons of variety in the Chimera and I think they look more vicious with their eyes and teeth. The Locust are more muscular and such.
However, the one thing that pisses me off about the Chimera (and probably the Locust too) is that there is WAY too much mystery about them. Every weird thing about the Chimera were simply explained with something like "We have no idea" or "Chalk another one up to the mystery of the Chimera". With the Locust, my problem was that the story of Gears didn't really start out very strongly and it didn't really tell me that much. I felt like that akward guy sitting nearby while you're having a conversation with your friend and you don't know if that guy is trying to listen to you or not.
