I predict a lot of Sony/MS fans coming in here and derailing the thread with massive flaming and trolling...

OT: for that scenario to work, Nintendo would indeed have to greatly diversify its output of games. More genres and more different franchises. Not just 2D Mario/3D Mario/Mario Kart/smash Bros./Zelda/Donkey Kong/Kirby.

A third-person shooter Kid Icarus would be neat, as would a new 1st person Metroid adventure.
Waverace, Excite Bike/Truck and 1080 Snowboarding could be brought back from the dead, perhaps combined into a racing game compilation. Starfox is due a new outing, but it would need to remain a vehicle-based shooter.

Endless Ocean 3. It just makes too much sense.

Advance Wars & Fire Emblem would both work perfectly with the GamePad's touchscreen. Pokemon Snap would be awesome with the GamePad, too. It's practically made for this; just look at those 360 degree videos on the e-Shop and Google Streetview on Wii U.

Looking at the tons and tons of fantastic art on Miiverse, Nintendo ought to really push that creative drawing aspect of the GamePad, it already works very well with Art Academy - make that into something greatly full-fledged.

Make the big 3D Mario adventure the fans want.

Besides all that, get some teams dedicated to continually port retro games (mostly GameCube and Wii ones, but N64 games could work too) to Wii U. Full 1080p HD, save states, new Wiimote and GamePad-enhanced controls, online functionality where it makes sense... the works.

As a bonus, finally, Tingle RPG 3 on Wii U.

At least the thread would remain on Forum Hot Topics and more people would discuss this...
