So an interview from last June states they will import only W2 into W3 pc and an interview just over 3 weeks ago from the co-founder of the company can't confirm anything. Sounds like something changed between then and now. Either way, the interview from 8 months ago only specified W2, not both previous games. I'd go with a more recent interview from the co-founder on that one imo.

Edit: My bad, didn't think about if your W2 save file already W1 save choices already embedded in it, but it's still not confirmed. Either console players will be fine on this one.

Maybe they have found unexpected troubles in doing so, or they plan to use it for more than just a few cosmetic changes.

We'll have to wait and see what they do.

True, he sounded optimistic in the last interview so it will probably happen but it's not detailed yet or something. If they do though, it would be cool if they had like downloadable prologue similar to ME2 Genesis on PS3 for console players.

From another, post E3 interview

Players who’ve completed The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be able to continue where they left off in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by importing their save file, CD Projekt has confirmed.

According to CD Projekt executive producer John Mamais, these save files will “definitely impact your playthrough in The Witcher 3.”

When starting a new game, players will be able to choose to import their save file or start the game from a default state. The option is only available to PC gamers.

“We’re not sure how it’s going to work on the consoles yet, but we might try to create some kind of game state even if you haven’t played,” Mamais added.

“Obviously we didn’t make the game for the Playstation 3, so we might try to deliver something for the PS4 that could create some kind of profile for those players.”

Nice!  Sounds like they're gonna look after each platform's players then.  :)
