Can you go from the Nintendo layout to the Playstation/Xbox layout at will or do you mess up sometimes?

I want to say yeah but it's not always the case. I replayed Tomb Raider on the 360 and died several times because they ask me to press "Y" at a moments notice and my mind sometimes reverts to Nintendo mode. That split second can be deadly! I was always able to jump between Playstation and Xbox because they had different button names. You shouldn't have much of a problem outside of the "confirm/go back" function in most games.

"X" on Xbox always makes me mess up when I play on a friend's Xbox. I should be fine besides that on the Wii U.
