I have the Zelda bunde also. Windwaker is really a great game. Pikmin 3 and 3D World are also great games too. I would also definitely recommend you pick up Wonderful 101. Probably the best or 2nd best game on the Wii U right now in my opinion.

To answer the controller question. If you plan on buying any 3rd party games, most of them don't support the Wiimotes. But I think for now you should get a Wiimote and a numchuck. Since the numchucks makes the games so much easier to play, especially 3D world(which is a great 2 player game). Plus it sounds like you want to get some Wii games too.
Which this is the numchuck

So back to the 3rd party topic. All of them support the gamepad. But if you want to play 2 player not all of them will support the Wii mote so you may need a pro-controller. Just look on the back of the box and it'll tell you.

I think this is the classic controler that everyone is talking about. But it needs to be plug into the Wiimote since it needs a power source.

I am sorry if I am just being dumb but if I got the Wiimote and plugged a classic controller into it I would be able to play New Super Mario Bros U? I am just trying to figure out if a Wiimote Plus and a Wii Classic Controller can completely replace a Wii U Pro Controller because if it can that is what makes sense for me.

I'm not sure if it does or doesn't since I don't own the controller or the game.

Guess I will find out tonight. Me and my GF are going to my GF's brothers house (and bringing our PS4s and Wii U) they have a Wii and all the controllers for it so I will see what works and what does not. My GFs brother has an Xbox One, we are in for one heck of a night of gaming XD
