Why I think this could be the last console gen. Has nothing to do with sales

That has nothing to do with my argument. Do you believe people which are currently buying PS4s are kids who played mobile games? no they are not. The people who are buying PS4s are the so called "hardcore gamers" who grew up playing NES, SNES, PS1. 

The kids I'm speaking off are still very young, that's why I'm not saying this gen is doomed, is the next one. And like I already said, "hradcore" gaming might simple become a niche market.

I agree with you. my sister's kids are no older then seven and that's all they seem to play. I think the oldest one has a regular ds,but it's always mobile games on my sister's phone are leap frog. I can see what your saying,from first hand experience.that's what the next generation is going to grow up one. There's wasn't all these options when I was a kid. There was no tablets/smart phones,etc.

Most of our gaming was done on msx, pc, c64 and Amiga though.

As I got older I got more and more into gaming on larger screens with bigger sound. Why would kids nowadays stick with mobile gaming. Dedicated handhelds will be in trouble but I think consoles will be fine. Maybe when you can plug your vr headset straight into your phone, streaming lag free 4K games over 5G, it might be time to start worrying.
