Filler stories? You don't have to pick up and read the items in the game if you don't want to. Henry and Sam's story add great perspective. So does Joel's brother. What you are saying is incorrect cause I like Mass Effect and that is popular. What i am is honest and will give my opinion wether society deems it acceptable or not. This opinion will always be logical aswell.
Warning about spoilers for people who havent beaten the game.
What should have happened is Marlene should have a gun and should have tried to get Elly back by force. It was her last chance and yet she just got shot in the face. It made her look like a dumb broad and there was no climax at all for me. It was disappointment after the great winter boss battle.
As for the filler stories i mean the brothers who obviously die in the same trap that happens to millions of people of wich we had already seen first hand when the woman got infected. The guy from wich they get a car is equaly uneventful. He had some history with Joel that we never get to know anything about cause of "great writing". It was completely dumb. Half this game is Joel not saying anything and not wanting to speak about anything. He is a complete jerk and i was rooting for him to die during the first half of the game cause he was so annoying. Woo... great writing. Terribly annoying character though.
Yeah he has a change of heart and changes from night to day after saying he doesnt want to see her anymore. Maybe its me but these people that say the opposite of what they really feel are a drag.
