No need to wait, you can play FF12 in HD on emulator right now, there even is a fan translation of the Japan-only zodiac job system version available. FF12 is one of the best titles in the entire series if you understand and make use of the gambit system.
I also tried playing through it twice, and had to drop it before realizing how great, dynamic and strategic the combat system can be when using gambits proberly. You do not even have to push a botton since complex tasks can be fully autmated using gambits.
