Sony needs Titanfall 2 because they've got no shooter equivalent and they will lose gamers to MS if exclusivity continues throughout the franchise if the COD gamers find out about it.

Sony do not need TF2.  There are plenty are shooters are the market.

Are you kidding me? You're blind. They have no major exclusive shooters and please don't say Killzone is a threat to anything. Shooters are their weakest genre and no way will the PS4 be a MLG official console unless we're only talking multiplats. Titanfall is THE game that is blowing up the next gen whether you like it or not and I am sure Halo and Gears will bring this back into good order holding MS back up as the competitive shooter console on FPS and TPS.

Titanfall is not THE game(do not get me wrong it will be a good or even great game), do not be blinded by the hype. 

Have you played it? I have and yep, the COD fans will get a kick out of it.

There is enough information out there to tell whether or not titanfall is going to be THE game. The game will be great/amazing whatever you want to call it. This is not going to be the competitive game this gen because of two reasons. First, the game was build from the ground up for casual gamers. Second, there are many exploits that could potentially break the game.
