most contracts have an exit clause. if X, Y, and Z conditions are/aren't met the deal is nullified. EA would be quite foolish not to have any exit clauses and ps4 sales killing xbox sales is very likely to be one of those clauses.
..obviously we don't know the finer details of the contract but everything is negotiable when enough money is on the table.
