sony doesn't have to outbid MS with cash. not putting titanfall on ps4 will cost EA at least 50M dollars, 1M copies sold on ps4 would be an easy accomplishment and that's money EA loses. so if Sony puts up 10M dollars then MS needs to spend at least 60M to retain exclusivity. Sony could also sweetin the deal without spending a single cent by reducing the royalty rate. Drop $1 off of royalty is worth 1M to EA for every 1M sold on ps4. With ps4 killing xbone at market EA is set to loose massive amounts of money staying exclusive to MS.
...basically sony could make is really, really, REAALLY expensive for MS to maintain exclusivity with very little effort on their end.
