A game like GOW doesn't need to be 60, and it is above 30. I believe it was around 45 or so (though I could be wrong, but it is above 30).

DmC was 30 on consoles due to the dynamic environment, but on PC it is 60. Games like DMC, Bayo and NG should be 60 due to the high combat speed, but I don't find GOW needs it.

I think 45 fps was targeted. Possibly the maximum fps in GoWIII. But really, it hovers between 30-40 fps most of the time. I probably wouldn't have much of an issue with it if it was locked at 35 fps or something.

Locked at some point in that range would be ideal for me as well, but given the combat set up for GOW, I don't find it needs to be 60. I prefer the eye candy there. I was disappointed DmC was 30 ish (not even locked) on consoles. Great story telling, but only "okay" combat, and it being sub 30 didn't help.

Without a doubt, Bayo 2 will be my preferred hack and slash game for quite some time - solely based on combat (none of the story fluff). I'm keeping my eye on Itagaki with Devil's Third though. I don't even know what form that game will take.
