It may play better, but no way would it look better.

Also why is fr so important? As long as the input delay is low, it's essentially the same game 30 or 60.

It's been proven that some humans can detect lapses in overall visual and gameplay smoothness up to 50 fps. Bayonetta banks on providing the smoothest concievable hack-and-slash experience available.

Although, I believe it truly comes down to individual preference. My mother can get headaches and nausea from watching certain 60 fps games. I'm the opposite - I get frustrated with anything that doesn't at least hit a solid 30, and I'm rather sensitive to fluxuations in framerate.

I agree that 60fps is better visually. I just think it's effects on gameplay are overrated.

Perhaps. In a competitive shooter or fighting game, a few extra milliseconds can make a difference. Yet, while Bayonetta may be faster-paced than most games in its genre, the framerate contributes more to the hyperbolic visual style of the game than the gameplay itself.

60 fps certainly wouldn't make that much sense for Ryse, seeing how its combat system works. Now, if it could just maintain a solid 30 fps, I would probably cease to whine about Crytek putting visuals over playability. God of War is iffy for me, because GoWIII fluxuates betweeen 30 and 40 fps, which annoys me a bit, but taking combat design into account, it's playable. Ascension feels significantly worse.
