Why would he adjust it? NPD gets some information from retailers and the rest are pure estimation and speculation, they may or may not adjust their estimation and they don't track every retailer in USA. They track about 60 to 65% of retailers in US...
So any product track by them is potentially undertracked and not covering 35-40% rest of the market is a pretty big gap while VG Chartz's at least tries to track every retailer and uses informations from NPD and other market research groups thus VG Chartz in fact has more complete picture than NPD since they will use multiple sources/estimations.
Anyway... You are just jumping the gun. We need to wait and see if NPD will make some adjustments to their estimation.

NPD is around 90% and it's very accurate. NPD don't adjust either ... we always eventually adjust to NPD. Facts are facts and that is what will be used, not VGC numbers.

Do you have evidence/proof and/or source that NPD is tracking 90 or even 100% of the market... I only could find that they track 60 to 65% of US market and that they estimate the rest and if they were very accurate then they would not have to adjust their numbers/estimations at a later time.

Reliable individuals on Neogaf who actually subscribe to the data, it doesn't costs tens of thousands a year for nothing. They never adjust, and the big 3 use their numbers.
