Yeah, unfortunately The Verge has proven themselves to be inconsistent and unreliable at best (and yes, it's likely that the cash injection from MS when they were struggling, is the culprit). Their review of the PS4 Tomb Raider gave me a great idea though, since past multi-plat titles that have performed differently and been scored differently from console to console because of those performance disparities, I now write off any current reviewer who doesn't give accordingly lower marks to current multi-plat titles that perform differently.
So many reviewers out there, so many NDA's out there, it's great that I have a way to write off the ones who cannot be trusted. I don't honestly care which platform has the better performing games, but I absolutely do care that reviewers/critics/analysts give appropriate scores based upon that performance, which they've been doing for years.
