Actually the implications are far worse. If you play a game 14 times and liked it and then suddenly stop liking it something is really wrong, either with you or the game. It's like waking up one day and realize you don't love your wife anymore after 14 years of marriage.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
