It has been mainly the opposite,  most thought xbox had UK and US on lockdown and ms was going to battle sony for europe. People keep underestimatinf the World wide brand power of playstation. Just look at the charts. That is cherry picking, I can find many threads for any console that are just as far off.

How long you been here? LOL This your alt account?

here why your at it, post them in here and help my thread.

As of right now I call bull. LOL

HUH? That has been the consensus everywhere online the last 2 years. People keep forgetting how strong PS brand is compared to xbox world wide. They are getting reminded now though.

How strong it USED to be.  I feel there is a lot of short term memory loss when people talk about the Xbox brand.  There was NO Xbox brand outside of America before the 360.  And even in America that brand was weak at best.  Similarly, there was no Nintendo brand outside of America and Japan.  Europe was always Nintendo's weakest market even when they were facing Sega back in the old days.  In the 6th generation PS2 did 55 million in Europe, Gamecube did 4.4 million, and Xbox did 7.1 million.  In the 7th generation in Europe PS3 did 33 million, Wii did 33.7 million, and 360 did 25 million.  The brand is not a monopoly in Europe anymore.

I won't argue that the brand of Playstation is strong in Europe.  What I will argue is that it is as strong as it used to and that it is not strong over its competition.  It could become strong this generation, but right now we can't say it is strong.  Not when it suffers such a heavy market loss as that.

Its stronger then ever now...........................It's now taking back that market share it lost. Also, market share does not translate from one gen to the next ask Nintendo. The only reason 360 made the ground it did was Sony dropping every ball possible with ps3. The wii was a fad......... Are you ignoring the sales this gen for a reason?

This generation is 4 months old for Sony and MS and only a year and 4 months for Nintendo.  I can't base anything off of that other than the PS4 had a very good launch.  Still is having a good launch and will continue that with Japan.  Could I argue they are going to go back to almost 90% market share in the Europen market?  Of course not.  I mean what the hell would I base that off of.

It really isn't me ignoring sales of this generation (simply because there basically are none for PS4 and X1 to really have usable trends) but other people ignoring the different dynamics going into this generation compared to last generation.  Playstation went into last generation with total market domination.  MS and Nintendo went in with nothing.  This generation has Playstation going in with a devestating market loss in every major market.  Nintendo and MS go in with huge revitalization of their market brand.  Could Sony regain it?  Yes it is possible they could return to total market domination.  But we have nothing to go off just yet to determine that.

Really the only thing we can see so far is that Wii success has not translated into Wii U success.  We have a whole year of sales to prove that haha.

One generation has little to do with the next, pretty much irrelevant.
