It's hard to say. Sony has a lot of departments bleeding cash (hello, tv unit). They are going to have to trim quite a bit to survive, and it looks like they are starting that process.

Nintendo is a gaming only company. Their biggest strength has always been handhelds, but the dedicated handheld market is shrinking, so they are going to have to find a way to profit from mobile. As for home consoles, things are obviously bad with the Wii U, and the next generation is going to be crucial. They could hit a home run (another Wii) or it could be another Wii U, and that would in all likelihood be their last home console. They are fine for now, but things could get much worse as time goes on if they cannot adapt to the changing market.
