Many people probably won't know what I am talking about but, they are at the right stage in the corporate lifecycle to be an evil company in the eyes of many people ...

A lot of companies start off being founded by young (in relative terms) idealistic people who see the failings of existing companies and try to produce something better; those that are successful often go through a "golden age" where they are seen as these moral companies that still perform really well. Eventually a company hits an age where the youth and idealism has moved out of the company and all that is left is middle-aged cynicism, and the company will fight to preserve the status quo; in comparison to the young and idealistic companies that are going through their "golden age" these companies look very immoral and (potentially) evil.

There is good and bad news though, the next stage is the eventual fall which will either result in a meteoric rise or the end of the company ...
