Male.
It's an average dungeon crawler with an interesting social link system thrown in. But since the social link system boils down to "say the right things to this person in order to get boosts to your Persona fusions" it kind of takes away from that.
The side stories are the best part of the game. They're interesting and I like connecting with the characters. The main story is really dull so far. I'm 3 months in and nothing has happened that I've been at all interested in. And the dungeon crawling & combat is pretty average.
I think the fact that so many people hold Persona 3 & 4 in such high regard is why I'm a little disappointed so far.
