Are there any? Is that even allowed? Do developers use tricks like changing the color of the blood to make them more kid friendly?

The reason I ask is because I was thinking up this game concept, but the target rating is E. The thing is, I want it to be the type of game that truely can appeal to both children and adults alike, much like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask do, and I want to see what I can get away with.

Now I'm not talking about obcene amounts of blood either. Just little drops or subtle death sequences. Look at Hyper Light Drifter for reference.

The same question concerns "gore." I quote that, because I don't mean like Gears of War gore. Again, look at Hyper Light Drifter for what I mean, but basically when you slice a monster, a limb may come off, but because of the artstyle (Think Journey-A Link Between Worlds-Hyper Light Drifter-No Man's Sky-Metroid Prime Trilogy) the cuts are more cartoony, and less "gash-y."

Any examples of E games with minor blood or gore? I'm okay with leaving them out because they can honestly turn into gore candy, but I want to know if there are ways to leave them in without forfeting an E rating.
