Well, according to MS's own estimates, there were 900K units on shelves at the end of 2013. It's obvious they shipped as much as they could, and stores took them because of good early sales, but sales dropped dramatically near the end of the year. It's good to have enough consoles on the shelves for people to buy, but that is way too many to have in supply at this point in the game. This quarter they will have no problem getting to the ~1.5M in supply the consoles usually have.
