That article is way too sensational to take seriously. I know media outlets do it on purpose but it just kills any trust a reader might have in what they are reading.
The writer said it himself--$100 for a PS3 is nothing. It's what GameStop offers, which is probably where Microsoft will sell those PS3s. It certainly doesn't mean they are desperate. Digging in and fighting right now is very important and Microsoft knows it. If they weren't doing everything they can then something would be wrong.
