I think the comparison is more to wake Sony fans up a little. They are doing worse than we are. Nintendo fans just want Nintendo games that try bold and innovative things without going crazy over graphics or free to play money making scam games. Nintendo is the last true refuge away from the shitstorm that the gaming industry has become.
Nintendo itself will be fine no matter what. They have a line-up of game franchises which every company would kill for. They are losing pennies right now, but so what. The share price is down? That sounds more like a huge opportunity to buy up Nintendo shares than something to worry about.
