PS4 has overtaken Wii U lifetime sales in North America!

They did, they made over $400 million net profit this last quarter thanks to the PS4.

The projected one billion net loss for the full fiscal ending April is due to the cost of them finallly getting around to restructing the TV/PC division, selling one of and spinning off the other into a subsidiary. They're effectively in the clear after this, finally ready to print money.

Making profit during the holiday season is only normal, even Nintendo posted a (smaller) profit last quarter. 

That has nothing to do with what I said technically (countering the assertion they can't profit off the PS4)... and no, it's not normal at launch when you're supposed to be loss leading and blowing up on advertising. Nintendo lost a little money last christmas due to the Wii U launch iirc despite an overall great launch.

Furthermore, no, they lost $15 million this holiday quater despite Pokemon, Monster Hunter 4, Zelda, 3D Mario, and about a bajillion 3DS sold for profit. If you want to penalize anyone for not being able to profit, it should be Nintendo. You're a joke if you can't profit off that Fisher Price tier hardware sold by the bucketload.
